Meet Wendy Davis, the founding musician of Mes Amis Strings

Wendy Davis - String Wedding MusicianViolinist Wendy Davis founded the Mes Amis String Quartet in 1995. She began her music studies on the piano at the age of seven, and began violin lessons at the age of nine. As Concertmaster of the California Youth Symphony during her teenage years, she performed a musical comedy routine with Jack Benny and a jazz concert with Duke Ellington.

Wendy attended Pomona College in Claremont, California, where she served as Concertmaster for four years under Giora Bernstein. During her summers,she performed chamber music at the Hillsborough home of the late Countess Lillian Dandini, and “Gypsy”violin at a Hillsborough party for Caspar Weinberger.

Since beginning her professional career, she has performed with many well known artists including, The Canadian Brass, The Association, The Temptations, Burt Bacharach, Arturo Sandoval, Roberta Flack, Dave Brubeck, Christopher Parkening, Kathleen Battle, Lara St. John and many more. She performed at the wedding of tennis star Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields and continues to perform at other celebrity weddings.

While in Northern California, Wendy played regularly with such groups as Symphony Silicon Valley, Monterey County Symphony, Monterey Bay Symphony, Monterey Bay Opera and Santa Cruz County Symphony. She enjoyed volunteering her time to teach music appreciation to 4th-6th graders in the Morgan Hill public schools. A well respected violinist on both coasts, Wendy performs with the Santa Monica Symphony, The Reading Symphony, Reading Pops Orchestra, and in freelance performances with ESU.
